Introducing Three and a Half Degrees: A Podcast for Business Stories in the Age of Connectivity

Facebook Business

Our ability to connect has never been stronger. Instant communication has enabled the world to become closer than we ever imagined and it’s sparked a fundamental change in culture. We’re no longer six degrees apart—technology has collapsed this distance, and today, we're separated by only three and a half degrees.

We’re excited to introduce Three and a Half Degrees, an original podcast series by Facebook. The podcast explores the benefits, opportunities and challenges of this new proximity, bringing together unexpected pairings of business leaders, mavericks and entrepreneurs who share surprising parallels in values, visions, experiences and ideas. Hosted by David Fischer, Facebook’s VP of Business and Marketing Partnerships, this podcast will share common lessons learned when building new businesses in today’s age of connectivity. Tune in to hear stories of challenges and triumphs, get inspired by innovative entrepreneurs and learn from the common practices, insights and motivations of successful business leaders.

In today's episode, “The Power of Social Good,” we introduce the creator of TOMS, Blake Mycoskie, to Bryan and Bradford Manning who were inspired by TOMS to create their own charitable business, Two Blind Brothers. Since the newest generation of consumers care more about brands that have a social mission versus brands that prioritize profit growth, this episode explores what it takes for businesses big and small to adopt a financially successful, social good model.

Check out the episode to learn how these businesses prioritized social good without sacrificing their bottom line.
