Celebrating Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month

Facebook Business

Last week we kicked off Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month — a month that’s especially important in 2020, given how COVID-19 has been affecting minority populations disproportionately. Some states have reported that Latinx communities have been their hardest hit, but COVID-19 isn’t the only challenge the Latinx and Hispanic communities are up against. The cited many barriers that limit business ownership and income, including things like young age and lack of wealth. But the Latinx and Hispanic communities are powerful and resilient, and we’re celebrating this important month with a series of online training classes, business advice and panel discussions designed to guide, inspire and uplift Latinx and Hispanic-owned businesses.

We’ve partnered with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Latino Business Action Network to bring this content series to life and will offer programming in Spanish and English. Throughout the month, we’ll cover topics like commerce, connectivity, creativity, access to capital and content creation. We’re also offering a Resource Guide with creative tips, success stories, training resources and more to help Latinx and Hispanic business owners grow their businesses. Learn more about our Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month programming and join us.

Facebook Elevate, a community and learning platform, will also host programming throughout the month, and focus on four weekly themes: community, art and culture, fashion and beauty, and music. They’ll also highlight Latinx and Hispanic business owners, through Q&As, fireside chats and more. You’ll hear from businesses like Selva Negra, El Cielito Cafe and Rizos Curls, whose owners and founders will share stories about their businesses and cultures.
